What's enough property to warrant a Living Trust?

by Drew Shaffer

I have been doing a lot of research on living trusts. Throughout this literature I find they say essentially the same thing: use a living trust if you are dealing with a "significant" amount of property...

What is a "significant amount of property?"

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Answer to how much is enough for a living trust
by: Mo Johnson

Of course, it's impossible to have a simple, set number to identify how much is significant enough to warrant a living trust.

However, in my experience, folks with less than 100k in assets are unlikely to benefit from a living trust and those with over 1 million in assets likely will.

Again, everyone's situation is different and there are non-financial reasons to get a living trust.

This is all discussed more at Wills vs Living Trusts.
