How Do I Protect Assets From a Second Failed Marriage?

by alice white-caldwell

This article was very helpful; I have attended two seminars on Living Trusts and find that the presenters are not saying that a will today is useless, but you get the feeling that this maybe true.

I have a prepared will, however, I feel that I may need more coverage in order to protect my assets from a second failed marriage of which lasted 5 years; this marriage did not incur any assets or liabilities between the two of us.

I would appreciate a response if possible on this.

Hi, I'm not sure why you think your assets need protection from the failed second marriage. If the divorce is final and there were no children -- what claim would he have to any of your assets? Do you pay alimony?
