NEED YOUR HELP..TO HELP DAD!

by MsSweetTart
(OC, California)

Hello, My dad asked me to help him create a will for him. He lives in Maryland and I live in California. I have no idea what kind of assets he has, if any. He has been divorced from my mom (whom is deceased), for at least 30 years now. He has two children from her, and one child from another relationship. Where do I begin? What type of Will/Living Trust do I need? Thank you

will vs trust vs ?
by: Mo Johnson

Hi, before you can figure out if your dad needs a will or trust or nothing at all -- you need to know the answers to the questions you mentioned -- what assets he has; how old the children are; what he wants to leave them, etc. If you can tell us those things, we can try to help.

But, especially with you out of state, I'd recommend your dad hire a local estate planning attorney to advise him.
