Living Trust Funding Medical Bills
by: Mo Johnson

Hi, this is an easy one. No question a living trust can certainly be used to pay any kind of medical expenses -- including those not covered by insurance. The only question is what the language of the living trust states. It will state what expenses the trustee is authorized to using trust assets to pay for. Often the trustee has broad discretion to pay for necessary living expenses and those would normally include medical bills.

Now, does the trustee have to pay the medical expenses? Again, that will depend on the exact wording of the trust.
